Step-by-Step Guide for Proper Use

Using a lotion pump is straightforward, but there's a right way to do it for optimal performance.

Steps:

1. Unlock the Pump: Most lotion pumps have a locking mechanism for travel. This is usually a twist-lock system.

   • To Unlock: Twist the pump head clockwise or counterclockwise until it pops up. You should now be able to press it down.

   • To Lock: Twist the head in the opposite direction until it clicks and can no longer be pressed down.

2. Prime the Pump (for first use or after long storage):

   • Point the outlet away from you and others.

   • Press the pump head down firmly and repeatedly 3-5 times until the product is drawn up the tube and dispensed. You may need to do this a few times before lotion comes out.

3. Dispense the Product:

   • Hold your hand (or the target surface) under the pump outlet.

   • Press the pump head down fully and deliberately with your finger or the palm of your hand. A half-press can lead to sputtering.

   • One full press typically dispenses a "dose," which is often designed to be enough for one application (e.g., for both hands).
